Len Deibert speaking: Business Now : When the US Coast Guard is rescuing someone from a raging sea, the last thing on the mind of the rescuers is logistics. The Coast Guard is better able to perform rescue missions and drug intradiction because day to day concerns of logistics management have been solved with the help of WR Systems. Adm. John Tozzi, USCG (ret.) speaking: Vice President, Syntek Technologies, Inc. talking: Logistics provides the underpinning for success and and WR has put together a magnificient system, very very customer oriented, very customer focused, uh has been able to keep an ontrack to achieve the goals of the customers as well as to develop very elegant solutions. Len Deibert speaking: Adm. John Tozzi was the assistant Coast Guard commander for systems and chief information officer. At the time, Coast Guard logistical operations were modernized by the Fairfax-based firm (WR Systems). WR Systems replaced 37 different computer systems with a new system that consolidates and integrates coast guard fleet supply operations. As part of that technology, the Coast Guard engineering logistic center is using EIL Squared software developed by WR Systems. The man who led the development team Mark Trevor (speaking in the background) believes the software is three to four years ahead of the curve. Mark Trevor - Dir, Software Logistics, WR Systems speaking : The pay off is in the integration between supply, finance, purchasing and the other modules in the Eil Squared. This integration improves accuracy, speed and reduces the need for redundancy or duplication of work. Lincoln Hallen - District 2 Director speaking: International Society of Logistics: The new technology is very important for logistics and movement of goods and services. Len Deibert speaking: In a recent survey Coast Guard is one of two agencies receiving an A for management. And one of three earning an A for information technology. Tajr Hall - Dir., Strategic Planning - WR Systems speaking: I think any industry that has to manage large capital and assets can use this system. You can find that in Airline industries, utilities, shipping industries - anybody that's got a large assette. We see this right now as going after utilities, maybe even the medical logistics market. Len Deibert speaking: WR Systems is a company that knows logistics. It developed that specialty from real life experience. Here at Norfolk, it tracks sixteen thousand line items of inventory worth eighty five million dollars. The inventory is used to overhaul and refurbish Navy and coastguard navigation systems. Dave Edwards, Vice President - WR Systems speaking: The bottom line is, we have been able to save the government twenty three million dollars since 1996. This is a company that has an outstanding - an outstanding track record in E-Commerce and web based solutions. Len Deibert speaking: President Ray Yu prefers to let customers think for the company. But his firm's 17 year track record and dedicated employees also speak volume. Ray Yu, President - WR Systems speaking: I can tell without any hesitation that we've never failed. Len Deibert speaking: Today, more that three hundred employees are delivering software, engineering, logistics and web based solutions in more that thirty locations in the US, Puerto Rico and the virgin Islands.
