To meet increasing customer demands, W R Systems, Ltd. (WRSystems) have increased production capacity for building their market-leading Emsys™ Emissions Monitoring System. Both production and installation teams have been working around the clock for the past few months to help their customers meet tight regulatory schedules.
Emsys has been Type Approved for all MARPOL requirements; additionally, it has been approved by the US Environmental Protection Agency for specific monitoring requirements in the offshore industry. The Emsys teams are currently installing systems on a number of vessels for different applications.
Production Manager Rosemary Berhane, a founding member of the Emsys team from conception through prototype phases, commented, ‘Wow! We have come such a long way in the past two years. The team has evolved and grown to meet the particular requirements of the commercial maritime industry, ensuring we deliver a quality product, on-time and to the required specification’.
Ms. Berhane goes on to state ‘Our team is intrinsically motivated; most have been part of the Emsys product evolution through Type Testing and on-board verification, so for them to now be part of a product success story is great news! Our engineers and technicians have taken ownership of the product quality and performance from Day One, their dedication can be seen in every Emsys we deliver’.
 
Ms. Berhane also informed us that the Emsys team does have certain issues when it comes to dress sense: ‘Our technicians have a particularly unique way of testing the systems, the photographic evidence shows these system tests were carried out under strict aloha conditions. I dread to think what will come next but our “Skunk Works” mentality has negatives as well as positives.... However, I shall be purchasing some new sunglasses’.
