In August 2003, W R Systems, Ltd. (WRSystems) celebrated its 20th anniversary. A special logo was designed by employees to celebrate the company's anniversary year.

WRSystems History

In 1983, Mr. Raymond Yu, who has more than 36 years of executive management experience in the areas of Information Technology and Engineering operations, business strategy, financial management, and entrepreneurial growth, founded WRSystems, a company built on a strong foundation of teamwork, quality focus, and above all else, a commitment to the customer's needs.

Since that time, Mr. Yu has overseen his company's transition from a small, two-person systems integration firm to a highly respected Innovative Systems Engineering product development and support services firm with almost 300 employees. A 1998 graduate of the Small Business Administration 8(a) program, Mr. Yu's company received multiple "Fast 50" growth awards as it expanded its customer base to include various Federal Government and Department of Defense agencies, Fortune 500 corporations, and many of our nation's leading public utilities. With three divisions (Asset Management Technologies, Engineering Services, and Surveillance Technologies) supporting both government and commercial contracts, WRSystems currently maintains offices in Fairfax, VA, Norfolk, VA, and Richmond, VA.

Differentiators in the area of Quality, Technological Innovation, and sound Software Engineering Processes are based on a Quality Management System (QMS) - documented in the company's Quality Manual (a.k.a. the "Blue Book") - which incorporates a disciplined approach to processes such as Project Management, Quality Assurance, and Software Engineering. Industry best practices and standards such as Carnegie Mellon's Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Capability Maturity Model (CMM) were key to the company's software engineering process achieving CMM Level 3 compliance through third-party assessment. A corporate TQM philosophy has led to extraordinary employee retention and career development. The company is currently pursuing ISO 9001:2000 registration.

The company's staff and revenue have increased significantly each year, resulting in many enduring relationships with customers. Mr. Yu was recognized as the New York region's 1996 Minority Business Person of the Year, and in 2000, WRSystems was featured on "Business Now TV."
