WRSystems is proud to announce that Mike Perkins of the Engineering Service Division (ESD) has been certified by NAVSEA as a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB). Lean Six Sigma is a business improvement methodology that combines techniques from two processes, known as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma business practices. Lean Manufacturing emphasizes the production of goods using less of everything: less waste, less human effort, less space, less time, etc., to maximize production. Six Sigma practices aim to systematically improve processes by eliminating defects in any type of process, to maximize quality. Combining the tools of both methods creates a balanced approach to improving efficiency and quality in any process. Mike completed a 6-month course at the NAVSEA College to earn his certification.
