Customized training
curricula for government and industry
Each member of our Instructional Systems
Design (ISD) team averages more than 15 years of experience, with
Ed.D. and Master's degrees in Instructional Design, Adult Education,
Technical Writing, and Film & Video Production. Together they have
developed more than 246 interactive Computer-Based Training/Web-Based
Training (CBT/WBT) courses on topics including Workplace Safety (OSHA);
Military and Industrial Skills; Health Care; Human Resources; and
Commercial/Recreational Certifications. They are up-to-date with commercial
development tools, computer, and video equipment.
Our team can:
- Create targeted multimedia enhancements for your current materials.
- Provide custom portions of your curriculum and courses as needed:
Computer- or Web-Based Tutorials, Simulations, Drill & Practice,
Testing.
- Help you in deployment of your courses: Web-Based, CD-ROM, or
other media.
- Review and evaluate third-party courseware and give you recommendations.
WRSystems
will use its in-house instructional design, curriculum development,
and content matter experts to perform the following tasks:
- Review current curriculum and curriculum documents (lesson plans,
instructor guides, student guides, PowerPoint presentations, etc.).
- Review and/or conduct needs analysis with training staff and
selected employees to determine what additional changes/modifications
to existing curriculum are required.
- Analyze and identify which curriculum content would be best
suited for e-learning/Web deployment and what content should remain
as instructor-led, classroom instruction.
- Update/develop new curriculum and curriculum documents (to include
design and course documents). Those intended for e-learning will
be revamped for that medium. During this stage of development,
our college/university partner will conduct concurrent reviews
of the materials to ensure the accreditation requirements are
being met.
- Conduct a pre-pilot presentation review of the courses. Update/change
the curriculum documents in accordance with comments/recommendations
from the review.
- Schedule "Train-the-Trainer" workshops and courses.
Our team
also develops just-in-time electronic job aids with user-centered
or performance-centered design through analysis of job requirements.
This approach greatly reduces: need for training and mentoring;
time to competent performance; errors of inexperience; and costs
of poor performance. The electronic job aid itself is a short help
program on a computer used by a worker who needs on-the-job assistance
that can't be provided well by a "flat" text manual or other static
