W R Systems, Ltd. (WR) has been awarded a $51 million Prototype and Engineering Development Model (P&EDM) contract by Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA). The contract has been issued as a cost-reimbursable Seaport-e Task Order.

As holder of the previous contract for this work, WR will continue to assist DNA with the development of prototypes and EDMs, systems of systems, and frameworks, and will provide obsolescence support for fielded systems. This rapid engineering work with DNA will provide new technologies, and will help to address critical capability gaps, enhancing the operational and combat effectiveness of the Navy and Marine Corps.

“WR has supported DNA for more than 14 years, and we continue to be excited about this work, which is vital to providing new technologies to sailors and Marines around the world,” said Frank Campion, WR’s Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Program Manager.

Work will be completed at DNA’s Fleet Integration and Readiness Engineering (FIRE) Laboratory and WR’s Norfolk, VA Operations Center.
